The father and son team of Dezer Development have been making waves in U.S. development and luxury real estate markets for decades—forging unique partnerships, collaborations, and and cementing their status as visionaries in the luxury real estate market. Having immigrated from Isreal in the 1960s, Michael Dezer was far from the mega developer he is today. After playing an instrumental role in the successful redevelopment of the Chelsea neighborhood in New York City back in the 70s, Michael Dezer purchased his first oceanfront property in South Florida in 1985. Today, Dezer owns over 27 acres of oceanfront property in Sunny Isles Beach, with rights to develop additional properties, which peaks the number to over 30 acres.
What was once known as “Motel Row”, Sunny Isles Beach is now called “Florida’s Riviera”—a mecca of opulent resort-style towers built with groundbreaking technology. Dezer Development has been on the forefront of this development, with several Trump buildings developed in the early 2000s. This marked the beginning of Gil Dezer’s instrumental brand partnerships to change the face and value of South Florida’s real estate industry.
2012 marked a new era for Dezer Development, announcing a master licensing agreement with Germany-based Porsche Design Group, expanding on the iconic brand’s reach in the ultra-luxury market. The venture’s first project is the Porsche Design Tower, a 60-story, 132-unit building in Sunny Isles Beach showcasing a one-of-a-kind patented robotic parking system, which will allow owners to park their vehicles directly next to their units. The project is earmarked for completion in late 2016.
Continuing to build on brand relationships, Dezer Development and the Related Group are set to break ground on the Residences by Armani/Casa condominium tower in Sunny Isles Beach today with an expected completion sometime in 2018. This project marks the first real estate project in the U.S. for the globally acclaimed fashion brand and an exclusive partnership between the three ultra-luxury brands. When completed, the tower will feature over 35,000-square-feet of incomparable amenities across two floors, all exquisitely designed by Armani/Casa with rich textiles and custom furnishings. Units range from 1,350 square to 4,160 square feet. They are priced from $2 million to over $15 million.
To date Dezer Development publicizes seven properties in Sunny Isles Beach as future developments, four of which are east of Collins Avenue. No reports have been made regarding future development projects for Dezer, however the brand continues to actively search for other major brands to partner with as they further define the East of Collins skyline.
